4 Tips to Stay Hydrated This Summer

July 26, 2022

The summer season is upon us, which means spending more time in the great outdoors! Whether you are relaxing by the pool, grilling up your favorite foods, or enjoying some fun at the local park, keeping the family hydrated is a must. Prepare and plan ahead with these easy tips and tricks and stay hydrated and enjoy your summer.

    1. Before heading outdoors, drink a glass of water. Drinking water regularly is hands down the best way to stay hydrated.
    2. Keep a water bottle with ice close by and drink every hour.
    3. Munch on water-rich snacks such as fresh fruits and veggies like melon, pineapple, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Popsicles also make a fun summer treat on a hot day.
    4. Avoid sugary beverages such as juice, soda/pop, sports, energy drinks and anything with caffeine.

Children tend to get dehydrated faster than adults so always keep an eye out for signs of dehydration—fatigue, lethargy, and dizziness—especially when spending significant time outdoors.

Have a safe and healthy summer!
